Inaugural 5K for Alpha Sigma Kappa - Women in Technical Studies. We are a social Greek organization dedicated to helping women and gender minorities find a safe space to serve the academic and social needs of a marginalized group within technical studies (STEM fields), an area largely dominated by men. We are raising money for our National Philanthropy, DonorsChoose.

Description: Enjoy this Virtual- Remote experience with your small collective circle in the location of your choice with family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, organization, sorority/sisters/brothers/siblings, or just you and your pet! This event is open to runners, walkers, and bikers; adults and children - no matter how fast or slow you finish. 

Course Description: You can complete your race on your own around your home, at the gym on a treadmill in the park– essentially you can participate from anywhere in the world! Our race comes with no time pressure – your pace is individual to you and you will earn your medal for completing whatever your speed. 

Race Details: Complete your virtual 5K between May 4th - May 31st by 10:00 am EST. 

Race Distance: 5K (3.1 miles)

Timing and Results: No official timing is necessary for Remote Runners®, but you may return to our website with your proof. We accept many forms of proof, as long as we can see you have completed the distance and the time it takes you, we’re happy. Examples include Garmin photos, app screenshots, Fitbit stats, program times, etc. "SUBMIT YOUR RACE TIMES" by logging in under "Manage My Registration" .   

How to Participate: 

STEP 1: Register for the event

STEP 2: Run or Walk a 5K (3.1Miles), anywhere in the World.

STEP 3: Log your run/walk/bike via the "Manage my registration" tab above. 

STEP 4: Celebrate! 

Rules:  

• There is no designated start time to complete your run/walk/bike. Run, walk, or bike at your pace and your time between May 4th - May 31st. 

• All Run packets will be mailed to participants prior to the start of the race period.
  

• Remember, this is a self-guided run/walk/bike. Stay hydrated, water must be provided by the participant.

EARN YOUR REGISTRATION BACK: While the race is an amazing experience itself, it's even better when you have friends join you! Once you sign up, you can begin referring friends and family to join you.

1) Sign up for the race. Once you complete your registration, you'll receive a unique URL link to share. 

2) Share this unique link with friends and family as often as you'd like.
