Camp Barnabas Campfire 5K Race Description

Here at Camp Barnabas, we can't bear the thought of our community running without a little extra motivation. That's why this year we're hosting the first-ever Camp Barnabas Campfire 5K. Break out your flannel and join us for this twilight 5K ending with cocoa and a campfire. We’ll supply the beards, but keep an eye out for BEARS (we hear they might be lurking around the course). Run, stroll, or just come and enjoy good company on February 8th!

ABOUT CAMP BARNABAS

Camp Barnabas exists to offer life-changing experiences to campers with special needs and to the people who serve them.

Did You Know:

  • Approximately 20% of the U.S. population has a disability.

  • There are many barriers to participate in summer camp for individuals with special needs.

  • Our overnight camp allows caregivers/guardians a week of respite while their child enjoys an amazing week full of fun and accessible experiences.

  • Over the past 25 years, Camp Barnabas has welcomed more than 90,000 campers and missionaries (buddies) to camp. Our goal at Camp Barnabas is to show others the love of Christ in every aspect of our ministry.

YOU can make a difference by joining in! All proceeds go towards our Barnabas Scholarship Fund which helps send individuals with special needs and chronic illnesses to a life-changing week at camp.

You NEVER start a race early

There was construction and roads were closed. Parking lots that are normally open were closed due to another event happening at the same time. Even with all of that, I arrived well before the race was scheduled to start. When I walked up to the start line, everyone was gone except for a few ladies who were waiting on a friend. While looking at my apple watch, which showed a time of 4:54, I asked them if the race had already started. They confirmed it had and, like me, they were super annoyed. I took off trying to find the race route, but ended up going a few blocks out of my way. Cardinal Rule of organizing a race...YOU NEVER START IT EARLY! :(
