Larry St. Onge Memorial Run to Benefit Others Race Description
Join us for the Larry St. Onge Memorial Run to Benefit Others on October 7, 2023 at Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL. Larry St. Onge inspired all those that knew him to strive for the greater good, and to help and support others. This Charity 10K, 5K, and Walk was created to honor Larry and carry his legacy forward by doing what we can to benefit those in need. Over the last 2 years, we have raised nearly $20,000 for The American Heart Association and The United Way. This year's event will support two charities - the National Blood Clot Alliance and the Naperville Area Humane Society. 100% of your donations will go to your selected charity.
The National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) is a non-profit, voluntary health organization dedicated to advancing the prevention, early diagnosis and successful treatment of life-threatening blood clots. Larry St. Onge died tragically from a Pulmonary Embolism, a small blood clot in his lungs which led to a heart attack. This November, Larry's daughter Jill will be running for National Blood Clot Alliance's Team Stop the Clot in the NYC Marathon, and via our donation page you can contribute to her fundraising effort by donating to Jill St. Onge & Team Stop the Clot.
The Naperville Area Humane Society is a non-profit animal shelter for dog and cat adoption, foster care, and owner surrenders serving the western suburbs of Chicago. Your donations help the Naperville Area Humane Society support these animals medical and shelter needs, and help save animal lives.
Join us for a great fall race on the crushed limestone trails at beautiful Danada forest Preserve in Wheaton to "give back". A Charity Walk will also be held for those wishing to participate but at a more relaxed pace.
If you are not able to run in this event, you can participate as a remote runner, or simply donate in memory of Larry. By running or donating, together we can make a difference.
Danada Forest Preserve - The main entrance is on Naperville Road, 1 mile south of Butterfield Road and 0.75 mile north of Interstate 88. The headquarters office is on the west side of Naperville Road at 3S580 Naperville Road.
