Fun Fact: did you know that the growing phenomenon of Turkey Trots was set way back in 1896? The inaugural Turkey Trot took place 126 years ago in Buffalo, New York!
2024 - REMOTE RUNNERS NATIONAL TURKEY TROT
5K - 10K- Half and Marathon - REMOTE (aka Virtual ) Run/Walk
JOIN THE MOVEMENT! with our REMOTE RUNNERS® Program! You can run as a group or as an individual, and you can run ANYWHERE at ANY TIME. You can walk around your neighborhood, trail, or track. You can use the treadmill at your house or gym. You can run outdoors or participate in another event. You can run/walk your race at your whenever you like...wherever you like.
REMOTE RUNNER PACKETS will be mailed out starting 1 week before the event date of 11.21.2024. Any registrations after 11.28.2024 may experience delays in shipping.
You can post your results from Thursday, November 28, 2024 starting at 7:00 AM CST to November 30 2024 11:59 PM CST.
HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR VIRTUAL RUN/WALK
- Register for the race and print your bib
- Complete a 5k, Half, or Marathon run/walk at your convenience, any time, anywhere between November 23 -30, 2023
- Submit your time (optional) to see how you placed overall and receive your finisher certificate.
- Celebrate your accomplishment by sharing on social media! #5Kevents
- Feel free to join the 5Kevents Community Group to share and celebrate with other participants. Don't forget to follow our Remote Runners Facebook page too!

What is a Remote Runner?
You complete your race on your own around your home, at the gym on a treadmill, or even with a group of running buddies – essentially you can compete anywhere in the world! Our races come with no time pressure – your pace is individual to you and you will earn your medal for completing whatever your speed. You can even walk our races without the fear of crowds at the beginning or the point in your race when you really could do with that 2-second pause. Each of our races has dates to complete allowing lots of flexibility to complete your challenge.
5Kevents.org’s REMOTE RUNNERS® program is designed for running clubs and groups who wish to orchestrate running events in their communities without the expense that larger events must absorb. No Permits, no restrictions... Just schedule your run with your group, use your GPS watch to time and post results and we will provide your group in advance of your race with 6 top overall male(3) and female(3) recognition pins. (Included with all team and group registrations over 6 participants)
CHARITY: Select a charity for your group and we will add it to our list to promote nationally.

Well I meant to sign up for my areas Turkey Trot in Troy,NY unfortunately I wasn't aware of multiple trots lol but as far as mistakes go I'm overall pleased with my experience and was still able to run the Troy's Turkey Trot course on Thanksgiving

I registered my 9yo grandson (Caiden) who is in a running club. He never received his shirt, coin, or bib...not even a link to print a bib, although we registered well over a month in advance. He was so disappointed. Regardless, it appears he won so he is happy now.
