REMOTE RUN/WALK (aka Virtual Run/Walk) - 500 Monument Square, Racine, WI
COVID-19 UPDATE: The 42 Annual Lighthouse Run is now a Remote Run/Walk ONLY.
For the first time since 1978 when the first race was held, the annual Racine YMCA Lighthouse Run will be changing to a “Remote Run” format. It is with great sadness that due to escalating conditions surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and with Racine's recent extension to limit large events until after July 31, the race will be changed to a “remote runners” format. We know this is disappointing, however, we feel a gathering of over 2000 people in Downtown Racine is just not the responsible thing to do.
Now more than ever the YMCA needs your support. Please plan to participate in the Racine Lighthouse Remote Run/Walk or help the YMCA sustain ongoing programs by making a donation. Both can be done at www.Lighthouserun.com
Proceeds from your participation in the Lighthouse Run help support the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
Your contribution helps us provide program support and financial assistance to youth and families who need it in our community. Only by working together can we give more kids the opportunity to grow strong in spirit, mind and body.

5Kevents.org will orchestra an event later in the year called “ReRuns” by inviting all those who registered for one of their canceled events to join this group event for free. The plan is to host a “ReRun” in Racine and Waterford/Burlington over two days limiting each run to 250 people. 5Kevents has dubbed this this a “Consolidation Run”. Runners or Walkers will be professionally timed and asked to wear the shirt they purchased for the run they originally signed up for. Those who wish to register or sponsor the event should go to the event web site at www.ReRuns.5K.run . Registration is Free but space will be limited to 250 participants in each wave. Additional details can be found at the website.
The Lighthouse Run begins on Main Street at Monument Square and heads north towards the Root River. Runners cross the river on Main Street before turning to run along Lake Michigan Pathway. The Modine 2 milers turn back on the snake turn at North Beach, while 4 & 10 Mile participants proceed along the Lake Michigan Pathway. The 4 Mile participants will return via the zoo path to Michigan Blvd. The 10 milers proceed north to 3 Mile Road.
COURSE ADJUSTMENT - Due to severe erosion on the Lakefront, a portion of the Lake Michigan Pathway is no longer accessible. The routes will be adjusted to avoid this area.
New for 2020 - The LHR 10M runners run a out and back course - head east on Lighthouse Drive to the famous Wind Point Lighthouse. There will be a lollipop turn at the lighthouse. The final leg of the race is to follow the path in reverse to the finish on Monument Square.
