Rock 'n' Roll Stroll Race Description

Kick off the Oak Harbor Music Festival weekend with the most rockin’ 5k ever!

Take steps together with us on Saturday, August 30th, 2025 for the second annual Steps ROCK ‘n’ ROLL STROLL to support families with infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities.

You are invited to bring the whole family to join the fun and dress up as your favorite rock star! We want to see it all - leather, lace, bandanas, giggles, smiles, tutus, crowns, big hair, glitter, and smiles! We encourage strolling, walking, running, skipping, hopping – and especially dancing - to cross the finish line.

Our day begins at Windjammer Park in Oak Harbor, WA on Whidbey Island. The course follows the sparkling waterfront out to Catalina Park at the Marina and back to Windjammer Park.

  • Free parking is available at Windjammer Park.
  • Check-in at the Registration tables to pick up your race bib and t-shirt
  • All pre-registered participants will receive a free T-shirt.
  • Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event to ensure everyone in your group gets checked in.
  • After checking in, enjoy kids' activities, face painting, photo booth back drops, and more. This is the perfect time for Rock Star photos!
  • Strollers, tricycles, sea turtles, and fur babies ARE permitted on the course - the entire 5k course is paved. Please act responsibly and clean up after your pets.
  • This is a non-competitive event, with each runner moving at their own pace and all finishers celebrated equally.
  • At the end of the 5k, we will have snacks and refreshments. Families are invited to make their way to SE Pioneer Way to enjoy the Oak Harbor Music Festival.
Special age based pricing!

Adults $30 (includes t-shirt)

Youth $15 (includes t-shirt)

Ages 0-4 Free!

Rockstar Coat Drive!

Winter will be here before you know it and you can help our youngest rockstar's stay toasty warm by joining our coat drive. Please consider bringing new or gently used coats, hats, gloves or boots (sizes 0-5) to support Steps families.

Taking Steps Together for 40 Years!

Steps (formerly Todler Learning Center) is celebrating 40 years of supporting families on Whidbey Island!

All ROCK ‘n’ ROLL STROLL proceeds benefit Steps, a non-profit organization providing in-home early support services for infants and toddlers, birth to three years of age, with developmental delays in communication, social-emotional, fine or gross motor, adaptive skills, and/or cognitive development. Our early learning and pediatric care staff are committed to building relationships by embracing each family’s culture, strengths, and priorities. We are continuously taking steps to expand our resources to meet the needs of the children and families we serve on Whidbey Island, Anacortes, and the San Juan Islands.

Fun friendly race

Low-key scenic 5K, not too crowded, great for beginners and families. Thanks to the volunteers for hosting it!
