Join us for a family-friendly 5k and 2.5k run/walk on the beautiful grounds of the St. Francis Retreat Center! Leashed pets are welcome too.
This event is entirely organized and run by our elementary school students at Sanctuary Academy of Dewitt, a homeschool support program. They've been training hard and are excited to host this special event! The course consists of two loops, making it perfect for families with younger children who might not be ready for the full 5k distance.
This is a non-timed event, so come out and support our youth and enjoy this run/walk in a peaceful wooded setting!
Parking Instructions
Follow the long driveway to enter the retreat center property. At the stop sign, park in the parking lot
straight ahead, which is the Bethany House Parking Lot.
About Sanctuary Academy of Dewitt
All proceeds from this event will benefit Sanctuary Academy of Dewitt, a non-profit Catholic homeschool support program. As an affiliate of Acton Academy, we focus on offering a holistic education that emphasizes learning to learn, learning to do, and learning to be. Our program incorporates time in nature, hands-on projects, and the development of real-world and critical thinking skills. The funds raised will help us purchase hands-on learning materials, particularly for our outdoor classrooms, as well as a classroom pet!

Enter the retreat center property by following the long driveway. At the stop sign, turn into the Bethany House Parking Lot straight ahead.
New to running? Download our FREE Zero to 5K program and discover the joy of running! Many beginners get discouraged because they start too fast and push too hard, leading to discomfort and frustration. Our Zero to 5K program is designed to gently introduce you to running, building your endurance, and fostering a love for the sport. It culminates in your first timed 5K!
Whether your goal is to complete your first 5K, improve your running, or find a supportive running community, we're here to help. This program eases you into running gradually, starting with a walking and jogging approach. In just four weeks, you'll go from non-runner to regularly running a 5K (3.1 miles)!
It's tempting to rush ahead, but resist the urge! Sticking to the program's pace is key. Conversely, if you find it too challenging, take it slower. Repeat weeks as needed and progress only when you feel comfortable. This program is about building a sustainable running habit at your own pace.
Refunds are not permitted for any reason including, but not limited to blizzard, tsunami, hurricane, typhoon, earthquake, tornado, derecho storm, hail, lightening, thunder, apocalypse, locust attack, oversleeping, birth, death, taxes, IRS audit, engagements, marriage, divorce, jail, war, peace, nuclear explosion, Bear's win the division (we might if they go to the Superbowl), you signed up for the wrong event, not training enough, training too much, poor prior planning or our favorite, "I forgot". Have an “excuse” you would like to add to the list? Let us know.
While there are no refunds, you can get referrals, transfer your bib, change your shirt size, defer your registration to another event or change your distance.
