Suicide Awareness Run/Walk Race Description
International Survivors of Suicide Day is November 20, 2021 and promotes coming together and supporting the survivors of this tragic event. When someone dies by suicide, they affect everyone who knew and loved them. For those people, grief and trauma can be especially difficult. Because the death is self-inflicted, coming to terms with the reasons and the stigma associated with it often makes it hard to grapple with, which is why they need all the support they can get.
All donations will go to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR VIRTUAL RUN
- Register for the race
- Complete a 5k, 10k, or Half Marathon run/walk/bike at your convenience, any time, anywhere between November 20-27, 2021
- Submit your time to the "Results" tab above to see how you placed overall and receive your finisher certificate (optional).
- Celebrate your accomplishment by sharing on social media! #RunsForAPurpose
- Feel free to join the Virtual Runs for a Purpose Facebook Group to share and celebrate with other participants.
