Enjoy a leisurely paddle on the Root River in Racine, Wisconsin. Enjoy this wonderful exploration along the Root River, numerous bridges, scenic parkland and unique city setting that brings us around Island Park... Approximately 7 miles.

Starting at Pugh-Rooney Recreational Area, 101 Reichert Ct, Racine, WI 53402. We will paddle around from the mouth of the Root River to Island Park and back. The entire course is approximately 7 miles and takes about 2.5 hours to complete depending on the speed of the water flow. You may do all or just a potion depending on your fitness level. Enjoy beverages and camaraderie before the start and upon completion. Easy access in and out with excellent parking awaits you! Join us for complimentary beer, brats and chips after the event.

If you have a group and you want to all launch together, just let us know and we will accommodate.

Important Note for your safety

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN LIFE VESTS except for rental craft participants. We will have a limited number of preservers available on a first come first serve basis. It is mandatory that you have a life preserver and wear it at all times, it may save your life. 5Kevents.org, LLC and all associated parties assume no responsibility. You are participating in this event at your own risk.
